The CO2 laser beam heats and vaporizes the skin tissue, instantly removing the superficial layers of the skin. Each micro-fractionated spot creates a thermal zone. The intact cells around the treated area aid the healing process. This process induces cell regeneration. The contraction is immediate while the structural improvement of the skin begins to be seen approximately one week after the procedure.

 

Fibroblasts respond naturally by producing collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans, which begin the process of skin restructuring. eCO2 combines the 10,600 nm laser beam with 3 different types of tips, with the possibility of having a penetration depth from 50 microns to 2.4 mm.

 

Using a patented proprietary algorithm called Controlled Chaos Technology (CCT), eCO2 distributes each laser beam as far as possible from the previous one over the treated area, in order to maximize heat dissipation. This fractional method translates into the optimization of the thermal relaxation time of the tissue, resulting in a faster and less painful healing process.
